[ Yuzu pauses at that.

Why would she still want to be friends...? She had seen clearly what Yuzu had done. What she can never take back.

The thought of separation and the guilt ravishing her heart leave her torn... but after a moment, the door slowly opens.

Yuzu is... not in any kind of good state. Physically or mentally. Her hair is down and somewhat messy, along with some bags starting to form under her eyes. Her head has a bandage wrapped around it, likely to deal with the wound caused by one of the rocks Mabel threw at her. Still, that's only one thing, and it doesn't explain the fact that she's wrapped in bandages all throughout her arms except where her skin is blackened.

It's as though she had hugged a very dangerous cactus (which she essentially was, after running from Mabel). Even if she could easily overpower a human, she was in a pretty dangerous place for a long period of time. ]

Hey...

[The moment the door opened, Mabel wasted no time in rushing in. While it was true she was more scared of Yuzu no being her friend anymore, she was also equally scared of her. Try as she might to keep her distance, she just couldn't help but see what kind of state she was in.

Not only that, to see the bandages around her head only made Mabel feel so guilty. She didn't do that, did she?

While she might not know what happened after Yuzu ran off, she just knew it must have been bad. Taking a step closer, she hesitated. For a moment, she didn't really know how to interact with her friend. And yet...]

Yuzu, why didn't you tell me you were like this?! I could have gotten you some snacks or even made a sweater for you!

It's... not that bad.

[ It's definitely bad. ]

This just happened after I ran from you... my head is fine.

[ She notes the distance even after Mabel came into her room. She clutches her arms together in an attempt to stop them from trembling, and she takes a step back when Mabel steps closer.

Of course she was afraid. Yuzu killed a man and Mabel saw it happen. It's insane that Mabel is even here after Yuzu likely traumatized the younger girl. ]

Yeah but it still doesn't stop me from being worried! I could have stopped by and given you some soup or chocolates to make you feel better!

[Because nothing fixes emotional anxiety and dread than having sugar in your system! Either way, she just looked back at Yuzu with a small smile.

Despite the distance, Mabel could see give her some encouragement]

I mean, I could do that right now! Don't know what kind of things you got in your house but I'm sure I can make something you'll like.

I didn't think you would want to after what I did...

[ She steps backward and sits on her bed, curling up into the corner. Partly for her own comfort, but mostly so that Mabel can feel more comfortable with more of the room's space open to her without getting too close. ]

I appreciate you coming here... but you don't have to do any of that for me...

[ She didn't deserve that kindness. Mabel may not know it, but she's done more than what she thinks Yuzu did. ]

Nope, too late! I'm in your house digging through your stuff!

[With that, off she went looking through whatever she could find in the place. The moment she walked downstairs, she didn't know what she could work with.]

Wait...!

[ She starts to get up, but quickly recedes back to her original position. She... doesn't feel like leaving right now. In any case, Mabel's already dashed out of her room. ]

[Sorry, Yuzu, Mabel is already in the kitchen looking for whatever things she can find! As she ventured off around the area, all the brunette could do was just narrow her eyes before giving a small sigh]

Are you kidding me There's nothing good around here! And eve then, they all have names on them! That might as well be screaming in my face at how I can't make anything!

How rude!

[Although, that doesn't stop Mabel from looking around. Yuzu might hear her tearing apart the kitchen at this rate]

[ Well... that's not good. She's not sure how everyone will react if the kitchen is ransacked by someone who doesn't live here.

So, she musters up her courage and makes her way to the kitchen. ]

Stop... it's fine I already ate...

[ Not exactly a lie. Yuzu's ransacked the kitchen herself a few times but she hasn't had a proper meal in a while. ]

[After making a mess in the kitchen, Mabel just sighs in defeat]

What's a girl have to do around here to make sure someone else eats? There's nothing here I tell you!

[She said before looking back at Yuzu] How do you even live?

[ Yuzu sighs. Living, huh? It felt easier before, well, everything. ]

I... manage.

[ Not exactly the best answer. ]

Listen... I appreciate that you came here and still want to be friends...

[ Even if she doesn't feel like she deserves it. ]

But I need... I need some time. Besides...

[ She remembers Mabel's earlier distance. ]

...you're still scared of me, right?

Of course I am.

[She didn't mean to be so blunt but it was true. She was still scared of her friend despite how much she was trying to help.] I just don't want you to get sick or let yourself become too sad.

[Then there was a pause. Should Mabel tell her? She wasn't sure if it was the same but the feeling of knowing how you messed up? It was mutual.]

Because I know it's not easy having all that guilty up inside. It's really not a nice feeling.

[ Yuzu looks down. It certainly isn't... but how could she not feel this guilty? She knows what she did, and the weight of that guilt feels like it'll crush her. ]

Then what am I supposed to do...? After what I did...

[For a moment, Mabel didn't know what to say. This was something she struggled with herself before giving a small smile.]

Then just keep being you. At least, that's what I would say to myself.

[ Be... herself? ]

I'm not sure...

[ She's not even sure if she fully likes "herself" anymore. ]

[You see that? That is the smile of a girl who very clearly has something on her mind!]

You know! Go out and have some fun! Kind of like having a little sweater drive and making sure people are happier around you!

[Cough cough nudge nudge hint hint]

A sweater drive...?

[ Oh yeah... she did see a post about that. ]

Yup! All you have to do is just help me get yarn and knit some sweaters! It'll be fun, I think you'll enjoy it!

[You know you want to join in, Yuzu...!]

I've never really knitted before...

[ She's not opposed to the idea... but should someone like her really be in something like that? ]

So? I'll teach you! It's not that hard once you get the hang of it! C'mon, what to do you say? Are you in or are you in?

[ Yuzu looks down for a moment. To be honest, she just wants to crawl into her room and isolate herself, a murderer, from others... but Mabel is saying to try being herself. ]

Are... are you sure you want me for it?

Of course! I wouldn't have asked if you I didn't want you on the team! And besides...!

[She said with a pause]

I think you'll be perfect for the job! I'm sure you know a thing or two about fashion.

[ She stares at Mabel for a moment, wide-eyed. Wanting to stay friends was one thing, but still asking Yuzu to be there for something—anything...

Her breath turns shaky and the tears start to form. ]

Thanks... [ She says, trying to wipe away the quickly-forming moisture in her eyes. ] I'll... I'll be there...

[ Annnnd the waterworks are here. ]

[That wasn’t the reaction Mabel was expecting! She was suppose to be happy, not sad!]

What’s worth that look for? Are you just so happy you’re crying tears of joy?

[Pause] Because I really hope they are!

[ She laughs a bit at that. ]

I-I'm fine... I just... I don't deserve someone like you...

[ She's still sad, but the tears evidently aren't because of that. If anything, Mabel's cheered her up, even if only a little bit. ]
